The Home screen

Written by Customer Success

The Home screen is the first tab of every event. It collects what matters now: announcements, your next meeting or session, and shortcuts to people and content.

Where to find it

  • Mobile app: the first tab in the bottom bar, Event Home (or the name your organizer gave it).

  • Web app: the same tab in a narrow window; in windows 768 px and wider, select the event name in the top bar or the first entry in the left menu.

Pull down to reload the screen. In the web app, reload the page.

What is on the screen

From top to bottom. A section appears only when the event uses the feature and there is something to show.

  • Stories: round bubbles from the organizer. The first one, Announcements, holds the announcements sent to you. See Announcements, stories and Activity.

  • Welcome media: an image or video from the organizer.

  • Your profile card: a greeting that follows the time of day, and your name. Edit event profile opens Account, where you edit your introduction, interests and availability.

  • Activity, Event info, Map: Activity lists the notifications Brella sent you, with a badge for unread ones. Event info opens the organizer's information pages. Map opens the venue map.

  • Managed meetings programs: one card per program you take part in, with its current stage. See Make your picks in a managed meetings program.

  • Sponsor banners: rotating banners. View more opens the sponsor's booth.

  • Spotlight: what starts now. Your accepted meetings and bookmarked sessions that start within the next 10 minutes or started in the last 5 minutes, then announcements from the last 10 minutes. Swipe sideways; in the web app, use the arrows.

  • My company meetings: for representatives of a sponsor with a meeting limit. Shows the company's accepted meetings against the limit and opens Company connections.

  • Feedback hub: Meeting ratings and Session ratings, each with the number of new items to rate. Shown only when you have something to rate.

  • Featured tiles: shortcuts the organizer laid out, sometimes with a sponsor ad.

  • Pitch reels (or the organizer's name for them): up to 6 attendee videos and See all. See Pitch reels.

  • <stream> is live!: one card per stream that is live right now. Select it to watch.

  • Top networking picks for you: attendees who share one of your interests, with the interest shown as a tag. Shuffle picks another interest; See all opens People. Under it, Representatives at <sponsor> shows up to 5 representatives of a sponsor, with Visit <sponsor>.

  • Featured speakers (titled with the organizer's name for speakers): up to 5 speakers chosen by the organizer, and See all.

Good to know

  • In the web app at 1024 px and wider, your profile card and Spotlight also appear in the right sidebar.

  • If you skipped networking when you joined, the networking section is replaced by the card "“Hey, I’d like to meet.”" with Start networking. You can dismiss the card; it stays dismissed on this device for this event.

  • The networking sections are hidden when networking is off for your ticket.

  • Spotlight is empty most of the time. It fills up around the start of your meetings and sessions.

  • The organizer decides the names of Event Home, Speakers and the pitch reel feature, so the titles can differ at your event.

Troubleshooting

A section is missing
The event does not use that feature, there is nothing to show right now, or the section depends on networking and your ticket does not include it.

Spotlight does not show my meeting
Spotlight shows a meeting from 10 minutes before its start until 5 minutes after. Open My Schedule for the full list.
