You need a Brella account to join an event in the app. Create it once with your email address, in the mobile app or in the web app at next.brella.io; the steps are the same. Brella emails you a code to verify the address. A password is optional.
Before you start
Use the email address you registered for the event with. Invitations from the organizer show under My events only for that address.
If you have attended a Brella event before, you already have an account. Sign in instead; see Sign in to Brella on the web app or the mobile app.
If the organizer gave you their own branded event app or web address, create the account there. The screens are the same.
Where to find it
Mobile app: install Brella from the App Store or Google Play, open it and select Get started.
Web app: open next.brella.io and select Get started.
Join link from the organizer: the link opens the event's welcome screen. Select Get started; the sign-in screen then reads Please login to continue. If the link is your personal one, your email is filled in.
Create the account
Enter your email address under Email and select Continue. The hint reads We’ll need to verify it’s you.
Verify your email opens and Brella emails a 6-character code to the address. A captcha check can appear first. Look for an email with the subject Please verify your account or One-time password. An account-creation email reads Use this code to verify your email address and create your account. In an organizer's own branded app, the subject starts with the organizer's name.
Enter the code and select Continue. The code expires after 15 minutes.
Create an account opens with your email filled in and marked Verified. To change the address, select Go back to edit. If you are signed in without this screen, see If your address already has an account.
Enter First name and Last name. They are filled in when you came from a personal join link and the organizer registered them.
Optional: enter a password under Create password. Once you start typing, the list Your password must have: shows the rules: 12 characters minimum, 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number and 1 special character. The eye icon shows what you typed. Without a password, you sign in with a code.
Turn on the switch I agree on Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The links open the documents.
Select Create account within 30 minutes of entering the code.
You are signed in at once. Brella sends no other verification email.
If your address already has an account
Entering the code can sign you in without opening Create an account. To set a password, open Account > Password. See Change your password.
After you create the account
My events opens. Without events it reads No upcoming events with a Join new event button. Enter the join code or open the join link from the organizer; see Join an event with a join code.
If you came from a join link, the app joins that event and opens its first step.
Your account settings open from your profile picture at the top right, under Account. See Manage your account settings.
One account for all events
You do not create a new account for each event. Sign in with the same email address and add the event with its join code or link. Joined events are listed under Ongoing events, Upcoming events and Past events.
Account settings apply to all events: your name, photos, company information, social media links and password.
Each event has its own event profile: introduction, interests, availability and the identity answers you give when you join. You set it up when you join the event. See Set up your networking profile.
Good to know
The question-mark icon at the top right of the email and Create an account screens opens Attendee Support.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens after Continue
The address is not a valid email format. Check for typos and spaces, then try again. See Fix sign-up and sign-in problems.
You are signed in without seeing Create an account
Continue with After you create the account. For sign-in steps, see Sign in to Brella on the web app or the mobile app.
"You must accept the terms and conditions"
Turn on the switch next to I agree on Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and select Create account again.
"Your email verification expired. Please verify your email again."
More than 30 minutes passed since you entered the code. The app returns to the email step. Select Continue and enter the new code.
Create account does not finish
First name and Last name are required. If you entered a password, every rule under Your password must have: has to be met, and it can be at most 128 characters. In the web app, reloading the page returns you to the email step; enter the new code.
