A join code is the code or link the organizer sends you to add an event to your Brella account. You enter it once; afterwards the event is listed under My events and you only sign in.
Types of join codes
Event join code: one code for the whole event, shared by the organizer with everyone. Anyone with the code can join.
Personal join code or link: your own code from a registration or confirmation email. It has one seat. Some personal codes only work for the email address the organizer registered.
Group code: one code with several seats for a company or group. It works until all seats are claimed.
Registration link: a link the organizer publishes for a group of attendees. It can be turned off or reach its capacity.
Codes are not case-sensitive. A join link has the form next.brella.io/join/<code> and fills the code in for you.
Where to find it
Mobile app: My events > Join event (or Join new event when the list is empty).
Web app: the same buttons on My events, or open next.brella.io/join.
The screen opens with the text Please review your email inbox for a message from the event organizer. This email should contain a link and/or a join code to join the event.
Enter a join code
Mobile app: select I have a join code. A Join code sheet opens. Web app: the field is on the page under I have a join code.
Enter the code in Enter join code here (not case sensitive).
Select Join.
The event's welcome screen opens and the join steps follow. If you already joined this event with the same account, the code opens the event's welcome screen again.
Mobile app only: I have a link opens your mail app so you can find the organizer's email and open the link from there.
Open a join link
Signed in: the link joins the event and opens it. If you have not finished the join steps, the event's welcome screen opens and the join steps follow.
Signed out: the link opens the event's welcome screen. Select Get started and sign in; the sign-in screen reads Please login to continue. Your email, first name and last name are prefilled when the link is personal and the organizer registered them. After you sign in or create the account, the app joins the event.
Links that contain
~are one-click links. They sign you in and join the event in one step. If the one-click link was already used or has expired, the sign-in screen opens with the notification Please login to continue; sign in and the app joins the event.
Troubleshooting
"The join code you entered isn’t valid"
Shown under the code field. No event, invite or registration link matches the code. Check every character, or copy the code from the organizer's email instead of typing it. If you deleted your Brella account after joining, the personal code was deleted with it; ask the organizer for a new one.
"This join link or code has already been used" — "If you used it previously, please log in with the same email address as before to access the event."
All seats of the code are claimed by other accounts. If you joined before, you are signed in with a different email. Select your profile picture, then Account > Troubleshoot: the Account check shows your email. Select Not you? Sign out and sign in with the address you registered with. If you never used the code, contact the organizer.

"The event is over" — "The event you are trying to join appears to be in the past. If you think this is a mistake, please contact our support team."
Joining closed. Events close for joining the day after their end date. Only Brella can keep joining open, for up to 90 days after the end date; the organizer asks Brella for it. Contact support on this message opens Attendee Support.
"Ticket required" — "You need a ticket to join this event. Please contact the event organizer."
The event sells tickets and your code is not a personal invite. Contact the organizer.
"This event isn’t available from this app"
The event lives in another app: an organizer's own branded event app, or the Brella app when you are in a branded app. The message names the web address to use; open it.
"join_errors.email_mismatch"
Shown under the code field. This code only works for the email address the organizer registered. Sign in with that address and enter the code again.
"This join code isn’t valid" — "If you think this is a mistake, please contact our support team."
Shown when you open a join link while signed out and the code in it is broken or incomplete. Open the link again from the organizer's email, or sign in and enter the code by hand. Contact support on this message opens Attendee Support.
"No seats available" — "All available invites have already been claimed"
Shown on My events when you open an invite whose seats are all claimed. Contact the organizer.
