Scan QR codes to connect

Written by Customer Success

Scan another attendee's QR code to save them under Scans, add a note and follow up with a chat or a meeting. Show your own code so others can scan you.

Where to find it

  • Mobile app: the QR Code tab in the bottom bar. The screen is titled Lead Scan.

  • Web app: QR Code in the left menu, or in the bottom bar in a narrow window.

The tab has two sub-tabs: My Code and Scan QR Code. My Code appears only if your ticket includes a QR code. If you don't see the tab, the event does not use lead scanning or your ticket does not include it.

Show your code

  1. Open QR Code > My Code. Your badge shows your picture, name, company, QR code and the event name.

  2. Let the other person scan it with their app or a badge scanner.

What is this QR Code? opens Your Event ID, which explains that sponsors and other attendees scan the code to connect with you in the app. Select Got it to close it.

Scan a code

  1. Open QR Code > Scan QR Code. Allow camera access when asked.

  2. Point the camera at the person's QR code in their app or on their printed badge.

  3. Prospect details opens. Add a note under Add a note and answer any questions your company set up, then select Save. The app confirms with "Details saved".

The person is now under Scans. Open their profile from there to chat or suggest a meeting.

Find your scans

  • People > Scans

  • Scans at the top of Networking

Each entry shows the name, company and your notes. Select it to open the profile. A person who registered but has not joined yet shows "Details not shared" until they join; the scan is kept.

Export your scans

Representatives of a sponsor with lead scanning see Export scans csv at the top of Scans. Select it; the app confirms "Your CSV export will be delivered to <your email> shortly." The file lists your scans with their emails, interests and answers.

Good to know

  • Scanning works in the web app with the browser's camera. The browser asks for access the first time.

  • You can't scan your own code: "Cannot scan yourself".

  • If a code is not a Brella code but contains a web address, the app asks "Do you want to open this URL?". Any other code shows "QR code is not valid".

  • Scanning needs a networking profile. If you skipped networking, the scanner reads "You haven't enabled matchmaking yet" with Start networking.

  • An entry that reads "Removed prospect" belongs to a person who left the event.

Troubleshooting

"Allow app to access your camera" / "Allow access to your camera"
Camera access is off. In the mobile app, select Open settings and allow the camera. In the web app, select the icon next to the browser's address bar, allow the camera for this site and reload the page.

"Sorry, networking is unavailable"
Networking is off for your ticket, so you can't scan. Contact the organizer.

"Sorry, QR code scanning is unavailable"

"Failed to save details"
