Send a meeting request to another attendee from their profile. The steps are the same for in-person and virtual attendees, in the mobile app and the web app.
Where to find it
Mobile app: Menu > People (or the name your organizer gave it), or Networking > Book more meetings.
Web app: People in the left menu, or Networking > Book more meetings.
Send a meeting request
Open People. Use Your matches, if shown, to see the people with the most shared interests, or Attendees to browse everyone.
Select a person's card, or Connect, to open their profile.
Select Suggest meeting.
Check the Suggested networking slot. It is the best slot that is free for both of you, marked "Available for both of you". To pick another time or area, select Change and choose a slot in Select time slot.
Edit Your message. The app prefills "Hi <name>, I'd love to meet and have a quick conversation!"; replace it with why you want to meet.
Select Send request.
The app shows "Meeting suggested" and opens the chat with the person. The chat shows the line Meeting request sent. The other person gets a push notification "Meeting request from <your name>" and an email with your message. Find the conversation later under Networking > Chats.
Choose a different time slot
Select time slot lists every slot where both of you are free, grouped by day.
Sort by: Time or Least busy.
Filters: Date, Location (networking areas), Meeting type (1:1 meetings, Group meetings) and Overlay My Schedule. Select Show <n> slots to apply or Clear to reset. Virtual events have no Location filter; Meeting type appears only when the organizer turned on group meetings.
Overlay My Schedule adds your bookmarked sessions and your existing meetings to the list. Slots taken by your meetings read Accepted or Pending and can't be selected.
In virtual and hybrid events, each slot also shows the other person's local time ("<name>'s time").
Select a slot to return to the Suggest meeting screen with Selected networking slot filled in.
Times show in the event's time zone if you attend in person. If you attend virtually, they show in your own time zone (Account > Date & time > Time zone).
Request a meeting without a time slot
If the organizer turned off networking slots, the Suggest meeting screen has no slot card. Write your message and select Send request. Once the person accepts, agree on a time and place in the chat.
What happens after you send
The request shows as Pending. The slot stays reserved for both of you until the other person answers or you cancel.
You can write 1 reminder message in the chat. After that, the message box reads "Chat is paused until <name> replies." See Waiting for an answer to your meeting request.
The other person can Accept, Decline or Reschedule. See Meeting status.
Good to know
If you don't see Suggest meeting on a profile, you can't request a meeting with that person right now. Either a request between you is already pending, they opted out of networking, your ticket doesn't allow requests to them, or you have no requests left.
If your ticket limits the requests you can send, the Suggest meeting screen shows "<n>/<m> requests remaining". See Meeting requests remaining.
Your message can be up to 500 characters. The counter next to Your message shows how many you have used.
Chat on a profile starts a conversation without a meeting. It is only there if the organizer turned on open chat. If the slot card reads "No matching times", you can still select Send message when chat is on. See Start a chat.
If the organizer turned on group meetings, Add others lets you invite more attendees to the same slot. See Group meetings.
Company representatives with a booth see "Tap to have this meeting at your <booth>" to hold the meeting at the booth instead of the networking area.
Schedule (or the name your organizer gave it) shows only the networking slots where you already have a meeting or a meeting request. You can't start a request from there; use People.
Troubleshooting
"No matching times" / "Your schedules don't align at the moment"
Neither of you has a free slot in common. Free up time in Set your networking availability or wait for the person's schedule to change.
"This timeslot is no longer available. Please select another time or location."
Someone booked one of you in that slot while you were writing, or the networking area filled up. Select Change and pick another slot.
"That's a wrap!" / "The event is over"
The event has ended. You can't book meetings after the end date.
"<name> is not available for networking"
The person opted out of networking or their ticket has networking turned off. You can't chat with or request a meeting with them.
"The requester or receiver is registered for a session that overlaps with this meeting."
One of you reserved a seat in a session at that time, and the organizer blocks meetings during reserved sessions. A place on a waitlist or a request still waiting for approval doesn't count. Pick another slot.
