After you send a meeting request, the meeting is Pending until the other person accepts, declines or proposes a new time. Until then you can send 1 reminder message, and the slot stays reserved for both of you.
Where to find it
Networking > Chats: open the conversation. The line under Meeting with <first name> in the chat header reads Pending.
Meeting cards, including My Schedule: the pills read Pending Meeting and Outbound. The card has Profile and Chat buttons and the ⋯ menu.
People: the button on the person's card reads Waiting.
Schedule (or the name your organizer gave it): the tile in that slot reads Pending.
Send a reminder
Open the chat from Networking > Chats.
The message box reads "Send 1 reminder message" with a bell icon. Type your reminder and send it.
After that, the box reads "Chat is paused until <name> replies." You can't send more messages until they answer.
What the other person can do
They get a push notification "Meeting request from <your name>" and an email with your message. In the chat they see Accept and Decline, and Reschedule in the ⋯ menu.
Accept: the status changes to Accepted, the chat opens, and the meeting shows in both schedules. You get "<name> accepted your meeting request".
Decline: the status changes to Canceled with the line Meeting declined. The chat stays open unless they turned on Close conversation. You get "<name> declined your request".
Reschedule: they propose another slot. The chat opens, the status stays Pending with "<name> wants to reschedule", and you Accept or Decline the new time. You get "<name> rescheduled your meeting".
Reply in the chat: when they write a message, the chat opens for both of you even before they decide.
Cancel a request you are waiting on
Open the chat and select ⋯ in the header.
Select Cancel meeting.
Edit Your message if you want, and select Cancel meeting.
The slot is free again for both of you and the request goes back to your request count. The chat stays open unless you turn on Close conversation.
Good to know
Brella does not cancel a pending request by itself when the slot passes or the event ends. Cancel it yourself if you no longer want the meeting.
Pending requests also stay pending if networking is turned off for you or for the other person.
The organizer can send reminder emails and push notifications to people who have unanswered requests.
Answer the requests you receive. A received request that waits more than 5 hours lowers your position in other people's matches, and one older than 2 days lowers it further.
Turn on notifications so you see the answer right away. See Meeting and chat notifications.
