Bookmark sessions and change the schedule view

Written by Customer Success

Bookmark the sessions you plan to attend. They appear in My Schedule next to your meetings, and the app reminds you before they start. The schedule's Settings change how the Schedule page looks on your device.

Where to find it

  • Bookmark: the bookmark button at the bottom of a session page, or the small bookmark icon on a session card.

  • My Schedule: in the tab bar of the mobile app and in the left menu of the web app. Its name is "My" plus the name of the schedule page.

  • Settings for the schedule view: open Schedule (or the name your organizer gave it) and select the sliders icon at the top right.

The steps are the same in the mobile app and the web app. Only the mobile app has Reset to event defaults.

Bookmark a session

  1. Open Schedule and select a session.

  2. Select the bookmark button at the bottom of the page:

    • On a session without registration, the button reads Add to My schedule. It changes to In My schedule.

    • When the page shows registration buttons, it is a bookmark icon next to them. The icon fills in.

To remove the bookmark, select the button again.

You can also bookmark from a session card. Cards appear in the List layout, in My Schedule, on track pages and on speaker profiles.

  • Select the small bookmark icon at the top right of the card.

  • On a touch screen, swipe the card to the right. A bookmark icon appears behind the card; let go once it is fully shown. Swiping a bookmarked card removes the bookmark.

The Timeline and Linear tiles have no bookmark control. Open the session to bookmark it. A bookmarked session shows a bookmark icon on its tile. Other icons take its place:

  • a check mark for a session you have a seat in

  • a clock while you wait for approval or are on a waitlist

  • a folder for a session that runs at several times

If the session overlaps your networking slots

At events with networking slots, other attendees can book meetings with you in the slots you leave open. When you bookmark a session that overlaps open slots, a question opens: "This session overlaps 1 open networking slot" (with the number of slots). It asks "Do you want to stay available for meetings during this time?"

  • Stay available: others can still book meetings with you during the session.

  • Block these slots: blocks the session's time in My availability. The app shows "Networking slots blocked". To undo it, delete the block in My availability.

  • Don't show this again: closes the question and stops it on this device.

A slot counts as open when you can use it, have not blocked it, and have no meeting at that time. See Set your networking availability.

My Schedule

My Schedule lists, day by day:

  • the sessions you bookmarked, including the sessions you registered for

  • your meetings and meeting requests: accepted, pending and rescheduled

It opens at the next item. Sync schedule to my calendar at the top adds everything to your calendar app. See Sync your schedule to your calendar.

When the list is empty, it reads "Plan your event" with Add sessions (opens the schedule) and Book meetings (opens People).

Reminders

  • The app sends a push notification 5 minutes before a bookmarked session starts. It shows the session title, the location and the time. See Turn on push notifications.

  • Spotlight on the Home page shows a bookmarked session from 10 minutes before it starts until 5 minutes after the start.

Change the schedule view

Select the sliders icon on the schedule. Settings opens. Your changes apply at once.

Setting

What it does

Mode

The layout: Timeline (tracks as rows), Linear (tracks as columns) or List (one list by start time). Select the picture or the name.

Scale

Zooms the time axis of Timeline and Linear, from 50% to 200% in steps of 25%. Select − or +.

Density

Compact or Detailed. Detailed gives each track more room; in Timeline, titles get 2 lines instead of 1.

Calendar sync

Sync calendar opens Sync to calendar to add your meetings and bookmarks to your calendar app.

Blocked times

Change my availability opens My availability. Shown only at events with networking slots.

Scale and Density are grayed out in List.

The schedule's Settings screen with Mode, Scale, Density, Calendar sync and Blocked times

The organizer sets the starting layout, scale and density. Your changes are saved on this device for this event. Another phone or browser keeps its own settings.

To go back to the organizer's settings in the mobile app, select ⋯ at the top right of Settings and then Reset to event defaults. In the web app, the settings open without a header, so there is no ⋯ menu and no Reset to event defaults. Set Mode, Scale and Density by hand.

In the web app, the settings open over the page. Close them with ✕ in a window narrower than 1024 px, or select anywhere outside them in a wider window. Esc closes them in any window.

Good to know

  • Bookmarks are saved on your account, so they are the same in the mobile app and the web app.

  • Reserving a seat, requesting a seat or joining a waitlist bookmarks the session. Removing that bookmark does not cancel your registration: the session leaves My Schedule and you get no reminder, but the seat, request or waitlist place stays. To give up a seat, select Cancel RSVP. See Reserve a seat in a session.

  • Canceling a reservation or a request, or leaving a waitlist, keeps the bookmark.

  • Bookmarks under People and Networking are people you bookmarked, not sessions.

  • If you don't see My Schedule, the organizer has turned it off. Your meetings are still in Networking.

  • If My Schedule has no Add sessions button, the organizer has turned off the Schedule page.

Troubleshooting

A bookmarked session is missing from My Schedule
The organizer has limited the session to some attendees, or removed it. Refresh the list: pull it down in the mobile app, or reload the page in the web app.

The schedule looks different on another device
Your Settings choices are saved per device. Change them on that device too.

Scale and Density can't be changed
Mode is set to List. Choose Timeline or Linear.

The overlap question no longer appears
You selected Don't show this again on this device. Block times in My availability instead.
