A live stream plays inside Brella in a player that comes from the organizer's streaming provider. Brella shows the player; the video and the sound come from the provider.
Where to find it
Mobile app: Menu > Stream (or the name your organizer gave it).
Web app: Stream (or the name your organizer gave it) in the left menu. In windows narrower than 768 px, open Menu > Stream.
Home: while the organizer has a stream marked as live, the Home screen shows a card "{stream name} is live!". Select it to open the stream. The organizer sets this mark; it does not show whether the video is playing.
Sessions: Watch now on a session. In the web app, it plays the video on a page inside Brella. In the mobile app, it opens the link in your browser or the app that handles it.
If Stream is missing, the organizer has turned off streams.
Layout
Web app, window 1024 px or wider: the player keeps a 16:9 frame. The Chat tab and any extra tabs the organizer added dock to the right of the player.
Mobile app and narrower windows: the player sits at the top and the tabs are below it.
When the event has several streams, select the stream title above the player to switch. The picker is titled Select a stream to watch (with the name your organizer gave the page).
Troubleshooting
"Stream not available" — "Something went wrong loading this stream"
The stream you opened is no longer available to you: the organizer hid it or removed your access. Go back to the stream list and choose another stream, or wait for the organizer to publish it again.
"No streams yet" — "Streams will appear here."
The organizer has not published a stream that you can watch. Streams can be limited to certain tickets or lists; if you expect one, ask the organizer. The word after "No" follows the name of the page.
A session's video page stays blank (web app)
The video provider does not allow its player inside other websites. Select Open in new tab at the top of the page to watch the video in a new browser tab.
"Stream not available" — "This session has no stream to watch"
The session has no video link. Ask the organizer.
The player is black or shows the provider's error
The problem is on the provider's side or your network blocks the provider. Check that the provider's site (for example YouTube, Vimeo or Zoom) opens in a normal browser tab. On a company network, ask IT to allow the provider in addition to Brella; see Network and firewall requirements. Try your mobile hotspot to confirm.
The video stops or buffers
Your connection is too slow for the stream. Close other video or download activity, move closer to the Wi-Fi access point, or switch networks.
No sound
The sound controls are in the player, not in Brella.
Select the speaker icon in the player's own control bar and raise its volume.
Web app: check that the browser tab is not muted and that the site is allowed to play sound in the browser's site settings.
Check your device's output device and volume.
If you have several Brella tabs open, close the others. Each tab plays its own sound.
The organizer's extra tab is empty
The tab loads an external page the organizer added. If your browser or network blocks that page, the tab stays empty. Ask the organizer which page it is and check that it opens in a normal tab.
Good to know
Streams are set up by the organizer. If the rest of the app works and only the stream fails, contact the organizer first.
Switching streams inside the app closes the previous one. Double audio only happens when you open several browser tabs or devices.
