Streams are the event's live or recorded videos, played inside Brella on the Stream page (or the name your organizer gave it). With the video you can find the stream chat and extra tabs the organizer added, such as Q&A or a map.
Where to find it
Mobile app: Menu > Stream.
Web app: Stream in the left menu. In windows narrower than 768 px, open Menu > Stream.
The page has a TV icon unless the organizer changed it. If you don't see Stream, the organizer has not turned on streams.
Open a stream
Open Stream. The page lists the streams you can watch, under "Select a stream to watch".
Select a stream. The video opens.
A stream the organizer has marked as live shows a red Live label. The organizer sets this label. It does not show whether the video is playing. In the web app, the Stream item in the left menu also shows how many streams are marked live.
While the organizer has a stream marked as live, the Home screen shows a card "<stream name> is live!". Select it to open the stream.
On the stream page
The stream title is above the video. If the event has more than one stream, select the title to open Select a stream to watch and switch to another stream. The new stream replaces the one you were watching.
The video player comes from the organizer's video provider, for example YouTube or Vimeo. Play, volume, quality and full screen are in the player's own controls.
Chat is the stream chat. It is there only if the organizer turned on chat for this stream. See Chat in sessions, streams and sponsor booths.
The other tabs (after Chat, if there is one) load a page the organizer added, for example a Q&A, a poll or a venue map. The page opens inside the tab.
Layout:
Mobile app and web windows narrower than 1024 px: the video is at the top, and the tabs are below it.
Web app, window 1024 px or wider: the video keeps a 16:9 frame in the space left of the tabs, and the tabs are in a panel on the right. Without tabs, there is no panel.
Watch a session's video in the web app
A session can have a Watch now button. In the web app, it opens a page inside Brella that plays the session's video.
The header shows the session title and time, Full screen and Open in new tab. In windows narrower than 768 px, the two buttons show only their icons.
Full screen shows the player over the whole screen. Press Esc to leave full screen. The button is missing in browsers that can't show part of a page in full screen, for example Safari on iPhone.
Open in new tab opens the video link in a new browser tab. Use it if the player stays blank: some video providers don't allow their player inside other websites.
Chat is the session chat. It is there only if the organizer turned on chat for sessions. The other tabs are the links the organizer added to the session.
The layout is the same as on the stream page: tabs below the video, or in a panel on the right in windows 1024 px or wider.
If the session has no video link, the page shows "Stream not available" and "This session has no stream to watch".
Other places with video
Sessions in the mobile app: Watch now opens the video link outside Brella: in your browser or the app that handles the link. See Navigate the event schedule.
Home screen: the organizer can put a welcome video near the top of Home. It plays there.
Breakout rooms: video calls for groups have their own page. See Join a breakout room.
Good to know
You see only the streams the organizer opened to you. Some streams can be limited to certain tickets or lists.
In the mobile app, the video pauses when you open another screen over it, for example a profile from the chat. Select play when you come back.
In the mobile app, the video hides while the keyboard is open, for example while you write in the chat. It comes back when you close the keyboard.
In the web app, the video stops when you open another page, and the player reloads when you come back.
The tabs are set when you open the stream. If the organizer adds a tab or turns on chat while you watch, go back and open the stream again.
Brella records which streams you open and for how long. The organizer sees these numbers in the stream statistics.
