Filter the schedule

Written by Customer Success

Filters narrow the Schedule page to the sessions you want, for example one track, a topic tag or a speaker. They work the same in the mobile app and the web app.

Where to find it

Open Schedule (or the name your organizer gave it). There are two ways in:

  • The filter icon at the top right, between the magnifying glass and the sliders icon. It opens Filters with every filter type.

  • The row of chips above the sessions. Each chip opens one filter type.

Filter types

  • Tracks, or the organizer's word for tracks, for example Stages

  • Tags

  • Speakers, or the name of the event's speakers page

  • Location

  • Slot type: Content (sessions) or Networking (your meetings)

  • Session type: Regular or Virtual oriented. Only at hybrid events.

  • Filters the organizer created from session details, under the organizer's names

A filter type with nothing to choose from is not shown, for example Tags at an event without tags.

Filter from the Filters sheet

  1. Select the filter icon. Filters lists the filter types.

  2. Select a filter type, for example Tags.

  3. Select one or more values. Lists with more than 10 values have a search field.

  4. Select Apply. The filter applies at once and Filters comes back. A number next to the filter type shows how many values you selected.

  5. Select Apply to close Filters.

Filter with the chips

  1. Select a chip, for example Location.

  2. Select one or more values.

  3. Select Apply.

Chips with a selection move to the front of the row and show how many values you selected. In the web app at 768 px and wider, arrows at the ends of the row scroll it when it doesn't fit.

What filtering changes

  • The schedule shows only the matching sessions on the selected day.

  • Several values in one filter type show sessions that match any of them. Several filter types together show sessions that match all of them.

  • The organizer's own filters are an exception. If you use more than one of them, sessions that match any one of them show.

  • The day buttons show a dot on days with matching sessions. Days without matches are grayed out.

  • The filter icon shows how many filter types are in use.

  • A session that runs at several times shows when one of its times matches. Its page lists the matching times and says, for example, "2 of 5 sessions match your filters". Select Show all (5) to see every time.

  • Filtering by tags, speakers, location, session type or the organizer's own filters hides your meetings, because meetings have none of these.

  • Filters apply to the Schedule page only. My Schedule and the search are not filtered.

Clear filters

  • Select Clear filters at the start of the chip row, or Clear all in Filters. Both remove every filter at once.

  • To remove one filter type, open its chip, deselect its values and select Apply.

Clearing filters keeps the day you are viewing.

Good to know

  • Filters stay on while the app is open, also when you switch days or leave the page. They reset when you restart the app or reload the web page.

  • Virtual oriented sessions are sessions the organizer marked for online attendees.

  • Sessions the organizer made visible only to some attendees don't appear for you, with or without filters.

Troubleshooting

"No results for" a day
The page says "Your filters don’t match any sessions on this day. Try another date or adjust your filters." Pick a day with a dot, or select Clear filters.

No results for a day, with the explanation and the Clear filters button

Your meetings are gone from the schedule
A tag, speaker, location or session type filter, or one of the organizer's own filters, is on. Clear it, or filter with Slot type instead.

A filter type is missing
The event has no values for it. Session type appears only at hybrid events.
