Sort attendees

Written by Customer Success

On People > Attendees you choose the order of the list: best match, join date or alphabetical. The sort works the same in the mobile app and the web app.

Where to find it

People (or the name your organizer gave it) > Attendees: the Sort button sits between Search for attendees and Filters.

Your matches is always sorted by best match and has no Sort button. Bookmarks has no toolbar.

Change the order

  1. Select Sort.

  2. In Sort by, choose an option. The list reorders at once; there is nothing to apply.

The Sort by sheet with the four options

Options:

  • Best match: people with the most shared interests and goals first.

  • Join date (Newest - Oldest): the people who joined the event last come first. This is the default for Attendees.

  • Join date (Oldest - Newest): the people who joined first come first.

  • Alphabetical (A-Z): by last name, then first name.

Only one sort order applies at a time. Combine it with Filters (Operating in, Interest, Goal and the filters your organizer added) to narrow the list.

How best match works

Brella scores each person against your profile. In order of weight:

  1. Shared interests where your goals complement each other, for example you want to buy and they want to sell.

  2. Shared interests you both want to network about.

  3. Shared interests with the same goal.

  4. The same industry as you.

  5. Activity in the app in the last 5 days.

  6. Brella's matchmaking points from earlier activity.

People who selected most of the event's interests score lower, so a profile with a few specific interests ranks higher than one with everything selected.

Your matches shows a selection of your best matches from this ranking. The number depends on the event. Attendees sorted by Best match shows everyone in score order.

Good to know

  • Best match depends on your own interests. Update them under Account > Edit my interests to change who ranks high. See Change your interests.

  • The sort order resets to the default when you leave People or switch to another sub-tab.
