Report a person to the event organizers, or block them so you no longer see each other in the app. Both options are in the menu at the bottom of the person's profile, in the mobile app and the web app.
Where to find it
Open the person's profile from People, a chat or a meeting.
Select the menu button (⋮) in the bar at the bottom, to the left of Suggest meeting.
The menu holds Block user, Report user, Add to phone contacts and, when networking is on for you, Bookmark.
Report or block
Report: the event organizers can read your report in the admin panel. The person is not told. You can still contact each other.
Block: you and the person disappear from each other's lists and search, your chats with them are hidden, and messages between you are not delivered. Nobody is notified.
Both apply to this event only.
Report a person
Select ⋮ > Report user.
Under "Let us know why you want to report <name>.", enter your reason (up to 2,000 characters). The field is optional, but a reason helps the organizers act.
Select Send report.
The app confirms: "Thanks for reporting <name>. We will investigate your complaint." Select Close.
The report is stored for the event organizers, who decide what to do. Brella is not notified. Reporting does not block the person; if you don't want further contact, block them too.
Block a person
Select ⋮ > Block user.
The app asks "Block <name>?" and explains: "Blocking hides all chats and removes this user from attendee lists. You won't be able to message or meet with each other."
Confirm the block:
Mobile app: select Block the user.
Web app: the browser shows the same text in its own dialog. Select OK.
From then on, in this event:
Neither of you sees the other in People, in search or in networking suggestions.
Your direct chats with the person disappear from Chats. Messages between you are not delivered.
Existing meetings are not canceled automatically. Cancel them yourself from the meeting chat before you block, or ask the organizer.
Unblock a person
Select your profile picture, then Blocked users under Account settings.
Find the person. Each entry shows "Blocked: <date> • <event>".
Select the trash icon next to the name.
The person reappears in the lists, and your chats come back.
Good to know
You can report a person once per event. Sending a second report updates your reason.
A block applies to one event. In another event you both attend, you still see each other unless you block them there too.
Blocked users lists your blocks from every event, with the event name.
Blocking and reporting work the same in the mobile app and the web app. Only the block confirmation looks different.
Troubleshooting
"Failed to report user"
The report could not be saved. Check your connection and try again.
The person still appears in a chat
The chat is a group chat, a session chat or a stream chat. Blocking hides only your direct chats with the person.
